Typekit Safari not loading

Hello there,

on my website Typekit is not loading czech language character. I have the Language Subsetting turned on, on the Adobe website and everything set up exactly how I always do.

I do not get any error on Chrome, Firefox or Opera, just Safari… How is that possible?

Hi @vojtechzikmund,

It could be something related to the font itself. Have you tried checking the font in Adobe Fonts on Safari and check it the character is still present?

Also, the character is displaying correctly on my end when I checked it in Safari (see secure notes).

Please let us know how it goes.

I have checked your site on my end using Safari on Mac and I could not replicate the issue.
I am getting this:

Please clear your Safari browser cache or use private browsing mode and test your site again.

Hey there @RueNel it’s not that obvious with the bold text, but you can clearly see that on the light family style.

I have tested this on several devices, different connections and also private browsing modes.
It is also weird that only character “ý” is different, if it was something with the adobe font language subsetting, none of our czech characters would work, right?
I have also tested typing the characters including character “ý” in the theme option’s > preferences > fonts and characters display correctly.
Any idea what could be causing this?

Hi @vojtechzikmund,

I saw similar issues before and it’s due to incompatibility with font and Safari. I would recommend contacting Typekit support for that. It’s not a theme or plugin related, but font-related which they serve. It’s similar to this https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2173544 but seems it’s dead link now. I can’t really provide specific recommendation since we have no control over the fonts being served by typekit.
