TypeKit Issues in RC-2

Have had this issue on multiple test environments with RC-1 & RC-2 installed. Typekit loads the first time, renders the fonts properly in the builder view but does not render them in live view. Then, when clicking refresh in TypeKit, my site is stuck in an endless “refreshing” for…ever.

Also, to save everybody some time on the back and forth here’s what I’ve done / tried:

  1. I’m using the native TypeKit built into the “fonts” template.
  2. Deactivated plugins and reinstalled one by one.
  3. Installed a fresh version of RC-2.
  4. Changed fonts and then changed back to TypeKit fonts.
  5. Disabled/Re-enabled the fonts manager within Theme Options
  6. Tried using the Themeco deprecated plugin just for kicks and giggles. That didn’t work either…
  7. All renders great on the backend builder (so things are sync’d and pulling through) not a single thing renders properly on the front end and TypeKit is stuck on refresh.

Can you please try updating to the official version? Let us know if that addresses the problem. If not, could you please add login credentials in a secure note? We can take a closer look at what’s going on directly on your site. Thanks!

Have done that. Have also cleared all caches, flushed server cache and deactivated caching. I even deleted my typekit kit and recreated it. It now shows the proper TypeKit ID but the old typekit fonts. Something isn’t being updated.
Login credentials coming shortly.

Thanks! I’ve confirmed the issues here. It was a bug introduced by some changes made in the font manager. I’ve been able to fix the problem for the next release.

Awesome! Glad I could help :slight_smile: Is there absolutely any way that I can implement a fix before Friday? Even if it isn’t your official next release? A manual implementation, anything?

I’m sorry, it’s not something that could easily be patched. You could revert to to the last version. We will most likely do a point release tomorrow. So far this is the thread we’ve seen leading to issues needing to be corrected so we’re waiting to see if anything else comes up.

Hi @alexander,

I saw that you guys pushed out the point release this morning. I’ve downloaded and can confirm that the TypeKit refreshes no problem! However, all renders properly on the backend but nothing on the front end. Again, all caches cleared, plugins de-activated, server caches flushed and deactivated, etc.

Thanks for letting me know. I’ve looked into this and there’s another bug we’ll need to fix. I’m sorry about that. Would you mind adding FTP credentials? If it’s ok with you I’d like to test the update on your site before we release it.

:thumbsup: Fixed. There will always be a slight delay while the fonts get requested but the text should be hidden until then.
