Two questions: What updates can I do myself? How to place dropdown menu instead of whole page in menu?

Hi there,

Question 1:
Since a couple of weeks I’ve been using your template. Love it! To make my website faster and easier to find in Google there are some updates I need to do (says Google test my site). Which updates are safe for me to do without changing the look of my website and which updates should my hostingparty do?

Question 2:
Is there a way to create a dropdown menu section without creating an entire page for the menu?

Please find the answer to your queries below.

Question 1: Answering the topic not related to the theme and theme-related issues, is beyond the scope of theme support. Still, we can guide you if you can show the points reported by Google. Regarding the update, I have found that you are using the 8.0.11 version of the X theme, which is a little older than the latest version 8.1.5. I would suggest you update the theme by following the below steps.

1. Delete the Cornerstone existing one
2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates
3. After deletion of the Cornerstone, please use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone.

Question 2: You might be trying to point out a section on the same page that linked to the dropdown menu item. If that is the case you can do that by using the one-page navigation. About your answer to question 1:
If I delete cornerstone 1, will my content still be available after updating?

About your answer to question 2:
That was not what I ment, is it possible to use a header menu item (in my case that would be ‘online teambuilding’) only too discover the different pages and use the dropdown menu to actually to go to the pages?

Hi Sebastiaan,

Updating the Cornerstone will not affect your content. And we are still not able to understand what exactly you want to mean, if that you want to use the dropdown menu to point out any other page, you need to add those menu items under the parent menu from Appearance > Menu. If that is not the case, please elaborate a bit more so we can understand what you want to do.
