Trouble with menu and submenu

Using the renew stack number 2 and noticing that the submenu stays hovered longer than the main navigation item which closes almost immediately.

Trying to look at the code on the demo site of renew stacks and seeing that the submenu won’t close on there.

How can I match the menu transition closing/opening for the main nav and submenu? Is there overlying CSS effecting this?
