Trouble with Litespeed asynchronous CSS loading and Chrome

I am running on a litespeed server with the WP litespeed cache plugin.
When “Load CSS Asynchronously” is selected I get weird effects - but only in Chrome, Safari is fine.

Any ideas on why?

Thanks for writing in! Please make sure to clear the Chrome browser cache first before testing. You may need to use Private Browsing mode when testing the site in Chrome after you have selected Load CSS Asynchronously .

By the way, I am seeing the expected look and feel on my MS Edge and Brave browser.
