Tried moving a license from an old site to a new site with no luck

Hi,

I recently migrated content from an old website to a new website successfully. Part of the migration process meant that I would have to move my X license from the old site to the new site so I could get future theme updates.

This is what I did:

Step 1: I went to the old website and revoked the X license.

Step 2: I logged into my Themeco account, and copy/pasted the license from the old website to the new website and changed the domain location to the new link as seen in the image below:

Step 3: I then copy/pasted the license into the WP dashboard of the new website. When I clicked the validate button I saw this message:

What makes this message strange is that this license was bought back in 2018, and I had already connected it to my Themeco back then.

So, I clicked on the Login button and saw this message:

I clicked on “Yes” and was then met with this strange message:

What shall I do?

Hi @mailboyfresh,

You need to unlock the License from your existing account dashboard and then add into to your other account.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

I only have one Themeco account and the license is already unlocked.

This license was connected to an old website I no longer use, so I changed it to my new website as seen in the image above.

I gave it try again and had no luck.

Hi @mailboyfresh,

It will be very difficult to tell anything without investigating through the Admin Dashboard. I would request you please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Hello @mailboyfresh,

I have logged in and I figure out your issue. You have assigned the URL to the X theme license. On you site, you have installed the Pro theme and then you used the X theme license to validate the Pro theme which is not possible. You can only validate the Pro theme by using a Pro theme license code.

See the secure note.

Best Regards.

In that case, should I upgrade my X license into a Pro license and the problem would resolve itself?

Hello @mailboyfresh,

Yes, you need to upgrade to the Pro theme license or you need to install the X theme on your server since your domain is registered for the X theme license. Please note if you install the X theme to your server, your custom Header, Layout builder, and Footer builder features is not going to work since it is Pro theme features.

Thanks
