Translation of portfolio items slug with WPML

Hi,

I’m trying to translate my site with WPML. It’s been going well so far, but I would like to translate the portfolio item slug. However, when I do that, my translated portfolios return 404 errors.
Have you ever encountered this problem?

Hi Nathan,

Thanks for reaching out.
Not sure what exactly happens to you, I would suggest you check by resetting the permalink to %postname% once again. If that does not help, there might be some different reasons behind your issue. I would like to suggest troubleshooting the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Theme Related Issue
2.Plugin Conflict
3.Theme Update related issue
4.Child Theme Related issue ** if you have activated it
5.CSS/JS Customization
6.Disabling Cache
7.Permalink

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above helps and you are still getting the issue, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Hi,

You can find credentials in the secure note. You can see here that when I translate the portfolio slug, it doesn’t work : https://test.pprd.fr/en/project/piolencs-experimental-plot/.

Thanks

Hello Nathan,

The given credentials are not working for us. Please double-check.

Meanwhile, you might need to check this out:

Best Regards.

Sorry about that, it should work now.
It is not working very well… When I open the page from the source language by changing the language, it works, but when I want to use the link, it shows a 404.

Hi Nathan,

Unfortunately, the WordPress admin login URL is not available. Can you please check and get back to us once it is ready to access.

Thanks

Sorry Again. I put the Login URL in the previous secure note.

Hello Nathan,

Your Portfolio slug is “projet”. This is what you have set in Cornerstone > Theme Options > Portfolio > Custom URL Slug.

In your WPML > Settings > Post Types Translation, the portfolio slug has already been translated:

And this is now working. Kindly check out the two links in the secure note below.

Thank you.

Thank you very much. Did you change anything ?

Hi Nathan,

Glad that we are able to help you with this. As a colleague mentioned the settings were already done, and we don’t make any changes.

Thanks
