Translating pages with WPML

Hi,

In this topic https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/page-loses-formatting-when-updating-translation/46986 I was guided to translate the pages within the builder.
Using this solution makes the pages stand-alone, only connected by the link (flag) in the builder.

While using the WPML translation manager the layout would be the same, only the text would be translated.
Translating the page within the builder requires maintenance and layout updates to each language.

Is it possible to keep the layout the same on 2 different languages while only translating the text?
Using the WPML translation manager isn’t working properly with PRO theme.

Thanks.

Hey @carinaa.

WPML’s Translation Manager only currently works for Classic Elements. If it’s ok for you to go all classic, you can go to Pro > Settings > Permissions > Macros and select Disable All V2 Elements then click Apply and then the Update button under Save Settings.

You will need to rebuild your pages with Classic Elements.

Thanks.

Thank you Christian,

If I translate using the PRO theme flag icon, how do I go about updating Yoast SEO settings for the translated page? SEO title, SEO text snippet, Focus Keyword

Hi Carinaa,

It should be the same way you apply it on a page or post, you just need to switch to that language when you do that.

The translation is a separate post or page, the builder’s flag only allows you to switch into it for translation without existing the builder.

Thanks!
