Translate components with WPML

Hi,
Can you please tell me how to translate components using WPML. I’ve tried to duplicate content from the translation flags in the editor but the duplicated component is … empty and I can’t add anything to it.

Components are not set up to handle any of that currently. Really shouldn’t be showing the language switcher for that either. The problem is components are split up based on export and are not posts with a post type for the most part. Using components with WPML you are going to split up language text into parameters or as slots and then change the language text inside the page the component is in. I’ll look into if we can get it working with WPML better as well, but in general I think were going to lean more into dynamic content for localization as it seems most users are creating the same design just changing the text. Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi @charlie !

Thank you for your answer regarding components and parameters. I started to set this up but have been confronted to a major problem :
Our components are used in multiples pages. I translates the page “Offers” and translated the component’s texts via its parameters but… I have to translate the component’s parameters on each page my component is used on …?
I feel like I have missed something because it seems unmaintainable. Can you please give me any recomandation about this to make it work easily?

Hey,
still no solution for this situation ?

Hey there,

To your question:

Yes. Components should be made separately, regretfully. You should create a separate Component per language. We understand that is not optimal but that’s the only way for now.

Thank you for understanding.
