Hi! I have a site running on X as a child theme, and I just bought a license for Pro. I’ve downloaded and activated Pro and the site still seems to work well enough, but I’m wondering if I need to make a child theme, and if so, how is that done? (I set this site up several years ago, and have forgotten how all of this works, so I very much appreciate the help)

Thanks for writing in! I have logged in and checked your themes folder. I found out that in your functions.php in the child theme’s folder, you have added this code:

Since you are now using the Pro theme, your child theme and any other modifications you have in it will no longer be integrated into the Pro theme. Please download and install the Pro theme from here:
After you have installed and activated the Pro Child theme, copy the modifications that you have in your X child theme.
