The thumbnail versions of the blog post featured images are fine on the homepage (https://soulfireshift.com/), except for the latest post, which it’s totally blurred and unrecognizable, and for the blog page (https://soulfireshift.com/blog/), the images are either partially blurred or fully blurred and unrecognizable. For the post pages, the images are super blurry and some totally unrecognizable. For instance, for this post - https://soulfireshift.com/struggle-or-love/ - the image itself is 1024x476 so the size should be fine, but when it shows up on the post page it’s somewhat blurry, and on the blog page, it shows up as completely blurry and unrecognizable. Any idea what’s going on?
Hey @Dush,
That’s highly likely caused by a third-party plugin. Please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
If that doesn’t help, switch to the parent theme. This will quickly tell you if a custom code in your child theme is causing the issue.
Thanks.
Hi there,
I tried both and still couldn’t get the images fixed. Any other ideas?
Hello @Dush,
Since you have installed a caching plugin WP Fastest Cache, please clear your plugin cache before testing your site. This can cause the changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately. Caching plugins are best to turn on only when you’ve finished building the site.

Hello @Dush,
There seems to be some corrupted files in your parent theme. I was wondering how you were able to update the theme. Did you do it manually or by using the automatic updates in your dashboard? Anyway, I have resolved the issue.
Please check your featured images now.
It would have been by the automatic updates in the dashboard.
The images on the blog page and posts look perfect now, but it’s doing the same thing on the homepage thumbnails instead.
Hello @Dush,
I have updated your custom recent post element code in your child theme’s functions.php file. I made sure that the image display is the original and not the cropped version.
Please check your images now.
Great, looks good now. Thanks so much!
We are delighted to assist you with this.
Cheers!
