I did a test of a page with screaming frog. For some reason the inlinks are 238, and outlinks 182 way above the recommended level. So I am just asking does the them cause this? I have not set that many links up to the page in question. Where are they coming from and how do I remove them?
Hey @waynepatt58,
Could you provide more details on what those inlinks are? As far as I know, an inlink or backlink is a link from another website pointing to your site and not theme related.
You can perform this test to see if it’s theme related
- Backup your site
- Clear all caches including browser cache
- Switch to the default WordPress theme and deactivate Cornerstone
If you test again and the inlinks are the same, it’s not theme related.
Thanks.
This is from screaming frogs website, all these links are coming from my own domain. Would be nice to have that many people linking too my pages. I thought it may have something to do with the mega menu under state laws navigation. But there is only 50 links in there. Need to get this resolved as it is bad for SEO.
Hello There,
Thank you for the clarifications. I have check the page and I could easily see a hundred links. The first 50 can be found in your main menu under the “State Gun Laws”. And the second half is coming from the map that is on the page. All other links could potentially come from the carousel, footer and the sidebar links.
Hope this helps.
