This email is already on the list error

Hi,

I’ve just setup a Mailchimp account and have integrated it to my email forms on X Theme. I’m using double opt in.

Because I’m new to all this, I’ve been testing to see if it works. But I am getting the error “We were unable to add your email to the list: this email is already on the list.”.

This email is definitely not on the list because I have logged into MailChimp and my list has 0 subscribers. Because I am using double opt in, I did not even confirm the email subscription. Maybe it’s saved in my MySQL database or something?

Is there a way around this?

Thanks for reaching out.

Are you referring to Email Forms extension? It doesn’t store any data of subscription, it’s a direct request from the form to MailChimp API. And as you said, maybe MailChimp is just preventing sending spam to that email since you said it’s just waiting for confirmation. And it only doesn’t display on the list since it’s not’s confirmed. Though, that’s just based on my understanding, would you mind providing the following so I could test it as well?

1. Site’s URL and admin login credentials
2. MailChimp login credentials and API key

And please provide these in the secure note.
