Themeco X treating wp-admin on subdomain as a separate website

I have my wp installation at site.com, and I have a dedicated admin server at admin.site.com, restricting access to the login as well as the ability to write to disk to that admin server, along with other measures for security. my X theme is complaining that my license is already taken by a different site because of its treating site.com and admin.site.com as two separate sites. Unfortunately, from the support I received previously, you guys made it clear that there was no support for running the site behind a proxy, so I’m using a separate solution now.

I’ve revoked the license from the root domain and reassigned it to the subdomain, that way automatic updates will continue to work, but I’m wondering if there are any issues to that? I’m not going to buy another license just for the admin pages, as trying to go to the homepage on admin.site.com redirects the wp-admin page, and in any case, the file-base is shared, so I imagine it would be impossible to add two licenses to the same site anyway.

Going through the license settings, I see there is an option for staging and production. I’ve set my url’s accordingly, and that seems to have made the themeco registration system happy again. Sorry for the bother.

In case anyone else comes across this, The only way I found that page was by clicking the “manage licenses” button that was offered when the registration portal told me my license was already assigned to a different website, from there, they have a production and staging field, and I added my subdomain to staging, and then attempted to re-validate my license.

Hello Dalton,

Thanks for writing in!

It’s good to know that you have figured out a way to resolve your issue.

I just want to add that we abide the one site per license policy rule by Themeforest. The license code must be assigned to the url of the site that you have installed the theme and the current site that you are validating. You cannot validate the license if the code is not assigned to the url. We also have provide the ability to validate two sites at a time to cater the staging and the live production urls which most users will be having with their sites.

Best Regards.
