We are using the Video Player for showing an mp4 clip on our website. In Firefox and Chrome, the first screen of the video is shown as a preview, but in Safari only a black area is shown. How can we get a preview pic in Safari, too?
There is also a problem with the sticky header, which is cropping the top part of the video (it’s placed directly at the top of the on-page-website) by scrolling down the site. By opening the site, it is fully shown with the correct distance to the header. How can we change this?
Wordpress 5.1.1
Theme X 6.5.3
Thanks in advance for help.
Hi @direktmacher,
Thanks for reaching out.
I checked your site’s home page and the video has no poster image. Please make sure to set a poster or cover image to your video player.
Else, please provide the exact URL where this issue is for further checking.
Thanks!
Hi Rad,
Our video player menu doesn’t provide the placement of a poster image:
Where can we find the settings you mentioned?
Thank you in advance.
Hello @direktmacher,
Please go to WPBakery Page Builder Settings > General Settings and enable the “Legacy X Integration” option. This should update and display the image poster in your Video player settings.
Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.
Unfortunately, the enabling of “Legacy X Integration” crashed the complete row layout of the site and the video area isn’t visible any more. Also the menu of Video player settings remained the same as before (no poster image integration shown). Is there any other possibility?
Hello @direktmacher,
Since you are using the native WPBakery Video Player element, regretfully this has no poster image option. This is one of the limitations of the native video element which is why we created our own video element for WPBakery Page builder. So at the moment, there is no possibility of adding a poster image in your video.
Thank you for your understanding.
Is it possible to “reset” Theme X to the version with integrated WPBakery Page Builder with the special video element but without layout damage?
Regretfully, no. If you have used the Native Visual Composer elements from the beginning, you need to continue using it without X Integrated elements. Otherwise, you will need to rebuild your pages.
Thanks.
