Theme X and Cornerstone Problems from Updated Version

Went to update my site, RossFG.com, using Cornerstone to edit the Home Page. New interface for Cornerstone (Version 6.1.4 ) and I couldn’t find where to edit existing text!

Wordpress and all plug-ins are updated.

I looked at a video tutorial of this version of Cornerstone and it shows in Inspector mode, under Setup, the option of Edit Text as the first option, but Edit Text does not show up under Setup in my version.

So, I used the Wordpress editor to make the changes. When I update and publish, the Wordpress entered changes don’t show up on the site! And now, the set of 4 counters don’t work. They’re just frozen.

Thanks for any help. This is my business site and I can’t afford to have it not functional.

Thanks for reaching out.
It will be very difficult to recognize the problem without investigating the settings. I would request you please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks for replying, Peter. I’m happy to supply the login info, but couldn’t find the key icon you referred to. Could you explain in more detail where I can find it? Thanks.

I feel like an idiot! When I scroll up to my first post, I don’t see a key icon underneath it. Should I be looking somewhere else?

Hi David,

I have checked and found that the Home Page content is editable using the Page Builder. Can you please check once and let us know if the issue still exists. If that exists, I would suggest you troubleshoot by following the below steps. The problem you are having might be due to the improper update of the X theme and Cornerstone plugin.

1. Delete the Cornerstone
2. After deletion please use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone.

After you update it, I would still suggest you check once by clearing all types of cache including the Style Cache from Cornerstone > Settings > System > Clear Style Cache and check in the incognito/private mode of the browser.
