Theme PRO / WPML issue - mix and match of translations!

Hi,

We’ve experienced the same issue multiple times on one of our websites :
We have pages with french, english, japanese translations. The english translations sometimes fallback to the french one and we can see it happening in the wordpress history of the page. We don’t understand the issue but it’s very problematic as you can imagine. Is it possible that the modifications on the english translation are somehow repercuted on the french one? How can we stop / prevent this ?

Any idea about this topic?

I’ve seen this happen a couple of times and it should be fixed for pages. Can be a couple of things. We’re these pages setup as duplicates originally?

This is just for pages right? Not posts? Is all pages or just certain pages?

When you’re on the WP admin pages list, do you see a pencil or a cog when you look at a problem page? If it’s a cog your in an inbetween state thing with WPML and need to click on that and see what it wants you to do. Creating a new page and duplicating the content in Cornerstone is always an option as well, though time consuming.

You can send me credentials to a staging site if that helps too. Let me know if you have questions.

Hi Charlie and thank you for taking your time !

I don’t remember the inital setup. Mainly it has been noticed on the homepage, we don’t handle posts on this website. Also a bug that seems similar on ACF repeater synchronization (french content goes back to english, even with sync diasbled) but I suppose it’s not related.

Yeah that translation is not being translated independently I believe. Although if ACF is giving you issues, I’d probably spin up a staging and start playing with the troubleshooting in /wp-admin/admin.php?page=sitepress-multilingual-cms%2Fmenu%2Ftroubleshooting.php just on your server.

In WPML translation management too, if you find that page, click the box, and do “Translate Myself” that might solve the issue. Deleting the translation and creating a new translation in Cornerstone might fix this as well. Let me know if this helps!
