Theme.co Pro Duplicating pages is not rendering the same

I have a page that was built using X Theme and now I am simply wishing to duplicate the page and to then create a variant with new content. This is using THEME PRO and in my own case the page has a list of authors. I have an author page, I want to duplicate that author page, create a new author and then save this off.

I’ve tried two routes.

  1. Duplicate post plugin - This works on just about every wordpress website I have ever used, Whether elementor, DIVI, WP bakery etc… However, when I use this plugin it will not create a copy of the page, the page will be messed up. The Title will be showing on the page and look and feel is broken.

  2. Saving an existing page as a template, via the front end UX. Again here when I save off the page it says it has saved, and it probably has, so then I create a new page and select to load the template, and the page then does NOT replace the existing content but attempts to put it in. Even if I previously create a new page in WP Admin, and then select the exact same template as the page I am trying to copy, then go to the front end and load the template of that page. In other words, trying to make sure that page is the same format as the live version that works before loading the template.

This doesn’t work either, graphics are broken.

So, can you advise please.

Thanks

Hi Jason,

Thanks for reaching out.
I confirm that both the steps you followed, work perfectly fine with our themes. Can you please update the Pro to its latest version i.e 5.2.2 and check if that issue still exists.

If that does not help, there might be some different reason behind your reason, I would like to suggest troubleshoot the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Plugin Conflict
2.Theme Update related issue
3.Child Theme Related issue
4.CSS/JS Customization

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above helps, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Thanks, what I found is that when you duplicate the page and then preview before saving it again the wpadmin edit page screen, the design looks bad. But when you goto into the page and then save it and preview it works. Not sure why but it’s fine now. I am using the Duplicate page plugin available in the WP plugin library.

Hi Jason,

Great and we’re glad that you’re able to figure it out. If you have any other concerns regarding our theme features, feel free to open up a new thread

Thank you.
