I have TinyMCE enabled on bbpress. When I use the link button in the toolbar it just targets the bottom of the page and sticks there, no URL dialog ever appears and it locks up the page. So unable to post links in forum topics right now. When I switched to the twenty-seventeen theme to see if it was theme specific, sure enough the link button works fine and the URL dialog modal appears. How can we fix this?
Hey,
Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.
Hi there,
Thank you for providing the information, upon checking your website I found out that there is an internal error 500 which is generated:
The link is from Linked In. So there might be an incompatibility issue between one of your 3rd party plugins and our theme. To make sure that is not the case would you please kindly disable all 3rd party plugins and then check the case again?
I tried to do that but the User is not an admin and I can not access the backend of your website. If it is not then we will follow up the case on our side to test and see if there is a conflict in our theme and bbPress.
Thank you
I have the samme problem with X theme but i odo not have any error nor any other tyype of problem in inspector all il loaded correctly but clicking on link button scroll to bottom of the page and nothing show up
This error only occurs when X theme is enabled, I tested with Twenty Seventeen with all plugins enabled, that linkedin error is something else. I will send you an admin login.
Hi there,
Thank you for providing the login information. I found out that the TinyMCE is not the original bbPress functionality and is added using a 3rd party plugin called GD bbPress Toolbox Pro.
Regretfully, we cannot provide support for 3rd party plugins or scripts as our support policy states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to Pro will need to be directed to the original developer.
In our turn, we will add a feature request regarding the incompatibility of the TinyMCE editor added by GD bbPress Toolbox Pro to our Feature Request list.
Thank you for your understanding.
This is simply not true. There are several ways to “enable” tinymce that is actually included in Wordpress core and bbpress. GD bbPress is one way, another, which I also used is to just enable it in the custom functions.php in the child theme. So, even without GD bbPress Toolbox installed, I can enable it and it’s broken in the X / Pro theme.
Read here (included in Wordpress): https://codex.bbpress.org/enable-visual-editor/
So please help figure out what is causing this bug. It’s definitely an issue with your theme, because it works fine in other themes.
Hi there,
I exactly added your input to the feature request and informed our development team. Thank you for your follow up message.
Please kindly stay tuned for upcoming messages from our development team.
Thank you.
