The Mystery of Templates

I would like to be able to use" templates." But I cannot find out how. I have searched the forum and the docs. I have found hints of how this works, but I have no documentation that is thorough or complete. One document refers to icons to click, but then covers the icon with a circled number and an arrow. I cannot find anything in the interface that would lead to the creation of a usable “template.”

I imagine that I could select a “section” and turn it into a “template.” If this is possible, exactly how does one do it? How do you create it, how do you actually open the “template manager”? Where is the Template Manager?

It took little time to make and use my first template (after all these years).
