The landing page doesn't show the changes performed with PRO editor (WPML compatibility issue maybe)

The page is this one: http://edinventa.com/

You should see that flag links point to the same URL, but actually each flag link should point to a different URL. If you edit the page with PRO, you will see that links are correct on the editor: each flag link is pointing to its own URL.

I’ve recorded a short video to show. That should help to understand! Video: https://d.pr/v/JGXAv6

I’ve also tried to delete the translations by doing the following: To delete translation, you need to go to Pages > All page and switch language with the top bar and delete the page you want. Please consider you have to delete it from the trash, not just move it to the trash.

Unfortunately, after deleting a translation (French) from the trash, the landing is broken.

I’ve restored our last backup to fix it.

When the landing crashed, I got the following email:

Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with your theme, Pro.

(...)

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
WordPress version 5.5.1
Current theme: Pro – Child Theme (version 1.0.0)
Current plugin: (version )
PHP version 7.3.20

Error Details
=============
An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 156 of the file /var/www/vhosts/edinventa.com/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/pro/framework/tco/tco.php. Error message: syntax error, unexpected ''', $style = '' ) { // 09' (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE)

Do you know what could be happening?

Thanks!!!

Carlos

Hey Carlos,

I’m sorry but we don’t have enough details to tell what is happening and the cause. Just based on the email, the error is coming from your child theme so you need to switch to the parent theme and monitor if the issue will happen again. If it will not happen again, please have a developer check the custom codes in your child theme.

Regarding the French page, the landing page might have been the French page you deleted. If this is the case, you need to recreate the page.

Thanks.

I switched to the parent theme… But I’ve NOT got any email from WordPress this time.

Good news is that I’ve been able to delete all languages.

Unfortunately PRO editor it’s not working yet for the landing page (http://edinventa.com/): if I click on Edit with PRO, the links are correct, but the links are not correct when I save the page.

It’s working correctly everywhere except on the landing page: so weird!

I’ve recorded a video with the procedure I’ve followed. Maybe you see something I can’t see! https://youtu.be/3G_wE7uQD94

Any ideas??

Thanksss

Carlos

Hi Carlos,

Can you please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

So find on the secure note our credentials to enter.

I’ve done a backup just in case by the way.

Thanks!

Carlos

Hey @educainventions,

This issue is with WPML and/or the WPML plugins only. It edits the links in the front end. Please check the following screenshots. Those are taken with the default WordPress theme active and WPML plugins only. That fact that the issue persists even in the default WordPress theme tells us that it’s not our theme that is causing the issue. You see there that in the backend, even in the default WordPress editor, the links are different than in the frontend.

Please forward this issue to WPML. This is not an issue with our theme.

Next time, please take the time to do all the troubleshooting steps listed here https://theme.co/docs/common-issues in order to check if the issue is really with our theme.

Thank you for understanding.
