The Influence of Click Behavior through Internal #Links on SEO

Hi,

Well, the title sounds very scientific, and so the essence of science is curiosity, so I am curious about this:

Are internal slider links like #prev and #next considered as an “event” by Google by default, or do we have to do some extra work (e.g., wiring them up with Google Tag Manager) to enable them to be considered as an event? I am not a Google or SEO expert, so the question can be stupid, if it is, please accept my apologies.

I had this question while watching this video. Sliders, in principle, improve user engagement, but is this engagement detectable and measured by Google by default?

As far as I understand, Google tracks user engagement with Chrome as well, so even the click event is not registered in Google Analytics and Tag Manager, they are probably tracking. Within this context, can we use sliders or other interactive elements to send stronger engagement signals to Google?

Thanks

Gunes

Hey Gunes,

Google Tag Manager experts could certainly track any element interaction regardless of theme or plugin.

As to how, we cannot answer that because that is beyond WordPress.

Please consult with a Google Tag Manager expert.

Thanks.
