The Grid skins

Hello there,

We have a few customised skins but we cannot see them in the Skin Builder - I think the Masonry tab isn’t working.

We can access the skins via the Item Editor but we cannot duplicate them there. We have to do that in the Builder…

Do you what we can do to fix that tab?

Also, we have applied a skin that is already being used by another custom post type and the excerpt is not appearing on the new custom post type grid. This is why we want to duplicate it, but can skins only be used on one grid at a time?

Kind Regards,

Spencer

Hello @finkk,

Thanks for writing in! When going to the Skin Builder, there is a JS error in the console:
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token u in JSON at position 0 at parse (<anonymous>) at Function.<anonymous> (jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=3.3.2:2:2469) at e.<computed> [as parseJSON] (jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=3.3.2:2:1205) at admin-ajax.js?ver=2.7.3:872:22 at admin-ajax.js?ver=2.7.3:1964:3 (anonymous) @ jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=3.3.2:2 e.<computed> @ jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=3.3.2:2 (anonymous) @ admin-ajax.js?ver=2.7.3:872 (anonymous) @ admin-ajax.js?ver=2.7.3:1964

Another 3rd party plugin may be causing this conflict. Please do the following troubleshooting first:

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hi @ruenel,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I disabled everything except Cornerstone, The Grid, and X’s Under Construction plugin and the masonry tab still cannot be accessed.

I also quickly disabled the Under Construction plugin as well just to see if it was that.

I switched the theme and it disabled The Grid Skin Builder entirely (you need a registered theme), so I couldn’t check it that way.

  1. The theme is up-to-date,
  2. The server memory limit is fine
  3. The PHP version is 7.3 (7.4 is not available)
  4. Memory limit is 512MB
  5. We are not using any caching plugins
  6. We are not using CDN
  7. All plugins are up-to-date.

Any idea what else we can do? I’m not sure this is a plugin conflict as there are not any left!

Kind Regards,

Spencer

Hi Spencer,

The Grid plugin is not supported by the X and Pro anymore and is treated as a 3rd Party plugin, so I would request you contact the Plugin Author on this. And also check by activating any default theme like TwentyTwenty and check if the issue exists or not, if that exists it means the problem is not related to the X.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Hi @tristup,

Yes, I thought so as Essential Grid has been bundled now for some time.

I will see what the client wants to do as we will need to recreate the grids in EE.

Cheers!

Spencer
