The Grid must be the most frustrating plugin I have ever worked with.
Does anybody know how to do a simple fade to around 0.7 opacity with a black background?

After about 3 hours I found it.
If anybody else is caught down the same rabbit hole - this is what you do.
Edit the skin, Layout Settings / Hover State / Background Color - set to a colour with a transparency and select the !important option on the right.
The Grid is a great plugin, it just has too many whistles and bells. It’s over-complicated.
