Thank you for this link. Unfortunately this documentation does not describe how to set a random sort. The following articles mention this but both seem to be outdated/written for a previous version of The Grid

Does my version of The Grid bundled with X Theme entitle me to support through themeone? My envato purchase number for X Theme does not allow me to submit a support ticket with themeone and I would really like to find a way to get an answer on this. Please let me know if there is someone else/a direct route to contact someone at themeone or if you are aware of another solution for implementing random sort in the current version of The Grid

I have revisited and thought about your question. Regretfully there is no option for random sorting. You will need to display random post before you can sort it.
In your Source settings, you must load the items by random order instead.
All the support for the TheGrid will be responded by Themeco since this is a bundled plugin. You won’t be able to connect to their support because the purchase code is for X and not for the plugin. I have endorse this thread to right person who has a direct contact to the developers of the creators of the plugin.

Would you mind clarifying what does not make sense with what @RueNel said? Did you follow the setup he recommended?
The following directions they list DO NOT fix the issue.
See here…no randomizing.
Please give us WP Admin access in a Secure Note in your thread so we could check your setup. I’ll close this thread.
