The Grid - Not all twitter photos showing

Hi Guys,

Have you come across the grid where you set it to pull posts from your twitter feed but it doesn’t show all of the photos? A photo is on each of the tweets but the grid only displays about half. Site URL: https://hadleylearningcommunity.org.uk/secondary

Twitter: https://twitter.com/HLC_Secondary

Thanks,

Hi There,

Please install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-search-replace/

After that replacing all the http://hadleylearningcommunity.org.uk/ URLs with the https://hadleylearningcommunity.org.uk/ URLs.

Hope it helps

Thanks Thai. Can i just ask what this will achieve and can this have a negative impact on the site?

thanks.

Hi There,

Since your site is on https and some links are still not, this will just fix it and should improve your website with no negative impact.

Hope it clarifies

Thanks Joao. Is this what you guys think might be causing only some of the photos to show on the twitter grid?

Thanks again. Love the theme

Hello There,

I am another staff investigating the issue. The grid is not displaying the images because the grid wasn’t able to get the images from Twitter. I careful taken down notes on the sizes of the images and it looks as if Twitter API is only serving the images with less than 900x900 pixels. This is why most of your images which was uploaded with a dimension of 1200x900 pixels were not serve.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for this  DO you know of anyway to change this? My boss is giving me grief wanting all images to show! Typical haha.

Hi there,

The only solution, for now, is uploading images and with correct dimension. Example, this content is in your grid

3 days ago The 1st "talkie" movie premiered today in 1927. Any student who tells a history teacher the name of it Monday gets a Pos Log. #HLCHistory

But if you click that item, it will go to here

https://twitter.com/hashtag/HLCHistory?src=hash

Which doesn’t have an image at all, hence, nothing to display even if you force it. Another solution is adding a fallback image (eg. a global image placeholder). They will all look the same, but will it uniform. Though, I don’t it’s possible with The Grid as there is no indication or selector for items with no image.

Thanks!

Thanks Rad  I will give this a go.

Let us know how it goes!

Hey there,

I don’t mean to highjack the thread, but I am running into a similar problem here https://360impact.ch/ with this thread https://twitter.com/vveyrassat

Thanks for your help and have a good day,

Sandra

Hi there,

I don’t see any placeholder for image, maybe it’s because of the selected skin? Would you mind starting a new thread and provide the login credentials in a secure note? But please link your thread here for reference.

Thanks!
