The Grid Instagram grid not working

Hi guys,

How’re you doing?

I’m trying to add my own Instagram photos thru The Grid. When I tried to bring posts from a specific hashtag worked well. But when I tried to get my Insgram account post, there was this error below:

Thanks for writing in! We can confirm this issue. There is an issue with theGrid plugin. If you need to display Instagram images and videos, you may try to use the Essential Grid instead while this issue is being investigated.

Maybe Team X needs their own social feed similar to The Grid so we can all stop with these constant loss of service Everything you build is amazing and we all need IG feed displays… right?

I can confirm that only the hashtag option populates the grid, usernames have stopped working on our 8 sites. Not the greatest to get 8 complaining customers in one day… we know how it feels

My understanding about the issue is that it’s resolved in the 2.7.5 version of The Grid. The Bulk Extension Manager in the X Theme shows that 2.7.6 is available for updating, but if I click update, it doesn’t actually update. Any thoughts on what’s causing it to not update? Wordpress is running on PHP 5.6.40. Does it need a php upgrade to support the plugin upgrade?

Hey @asnieckus,

The latest The Grid version we provide right now is 2.7.7. If you can’t update The Grid automatically, please back up or export all your grids and then deactivate The Grid. The update link will usually become available after that but if it won’t be available, uninstall The Grid and install it again via X > Validation.

If that won’t help still, please give us the following information in a Secure Note.

• WordPress Login URL
• Admin level username and password
• FTP details.

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks, that worked! But sadly, The Grid is still not displaying the instagram feed. Their changelog suggested it was fixed, not sure why it’s still not working: https://codecanyon.net/item/the-grid-responsive-wordpress-grid-plugin/13306812#item-description__changelog

In that case, we’ll report the issue again to The Grid developers. But before we do that, please ensure that the issue is with The Grid only and not affected by other 3rd party plugins and caching so please perform all the troubleshooting steps listed in our Troubleshooting Common Issues article here https://theme.co/docs/common-issues

I did the troubleshooting steps: disabled plugins, upgraded php memory, made sure the cache was clear and it still didn’t work. The error message is “No content was found for the current ursername(s) and/or hashtag(s).” It works if I use a hashtag, but not for the username (and it used to work with the username that’s entered, so I don’t think that’s the problem. Thanks for reporting the issue.

The Grid extension has already been updated with few fixes for Instagram feed, The latest The Grid version we provide right now is 2.7.7. Please compare your extension version with our version compatibility page for the supported version of plugins with the theme.

If you are having a similar issue which described in this thread, you can try the solution which has been given in the previous response

You can now get the grid 2.7.8 which outlays instructions to make a instagram basic display app & generate a user token to show the content which after integrating will no longer be limited to just 12 posts. However, I’ve found the comment count / likes are no longer working for the grid skin.

The current “The Gird” version we have on our version compatibility is 2.77. If you have your own license for the grid plugin, please ask assistance from the plugin developer to help you solve your issue about the Instagram feed.
