The Grid extension - load all filter buttons on page load

Hi,

I have this plugin via purchasing the X Pro theme. I am using it on the page I provided above. What is the best way to get all of the filters to show on load (even if some of the posts are hidden due to ajax load). I’d like users be able to filter by all of the options on load without having to scroll. Right now I just sorted the grid by “recently modified” and then modified the two posts that will trigger the filter boxes to show up. However, this is not the best/easiest way.

The problem is we have a lot of one kind of post and very few of the others. I’d like the most recent posts from each filter to show up on the grid on load. Or for the filter boxes to show up on load automatically (without the post loaded).

What is the best way to do this?

Thank you!

Hello Erin,

Thanks for writing in! Please understand that theGrid plugin will only display the number of post you have specified in the grid settings.

Once the post items were loaded in the page, the filters can then be used to filter out the post items based on the number of post items loaded on the page. The filters cannot be used to load other items.

To learn more about the Filters and how you can add more filter buttons, please check this documentation: https://theme-one.com/docs/the-grid/#filter_settings

Thank so much for your reply!

Ok so the filters cannot load post items that are not loaded onto the page. The filter button will not show up unless a post item that corresponds to that filter is loaded, I got that. So, what is the best workaround. I’ve tried “order by” “random order” which does not randomize really. The only workaround I can figure out is to order the posts by “last modified” on load and to just continuously update one “artist interview” and one “live stream” post so that they are always at the top and those filters show up.

Are there other ways to “stick the post to the top”. I know you can select this in wordpress however that data is not translated to the plugin. Does the plugin have an option to stick certain post ID’s to the top?

Your suggestion of adding more filter buttons does not seem to do what I need. I just need users to be able to see that there are “artist interviews” and “live stream” posts and they can easily navigate to them via pressing a filter button.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Hello Erin,

The Sticky post is currently not supported in TheGrid plugin. We already have requested this as a feature to the creators of the plugin.

You are most welcome.
