The Grid - Displaying Yoast Prominent Words

Hoping someone here can help me out. I updated to the premium yoast plugin and now the grid is displaying “prominent words” as if they were categories - I am using the “MALE” skin. How do I get the grid to not display the prominent words and only to display category(s).

It’s a hot mess for me…
It shows in the media area…
It also shows up on the grid much as yours is too.
What I have found with the grid is that you can chose one or two skins that don’t display it, but that limits your functionality options.
Yoast is NO help at all…worthless…
I posted a couple videos for them to look at out on youtube…
We will see if Yoast responds…doubtful.

Themeco? Ideas?

Upon follow up with Yoast…not great news…they claim it is the Theme design issue that is causing it.

Hello Rick,

Thanks for getting back to us with more information.
Prominent words in our plugin are created as private taxonomies. The problem is that the theme you are using is showing private taxonomies and it shouldn’t do that (as they’re for internal use only). Unfortunately, this is something we are unable to solve.

We’d recommend you reach out to the developers of your theme and bring this issue to their attention. They’ll be able to look further into this issue and find a solution.

Please, let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello Rick,

Thanks for your email!

Yes, in order to disable “prominent words” lists from being visible in Readability section, you would need to turn off the Insights option in SEO > Features > Insights. This should hide prominent words list in Readability tab of Yoast SEO Metabox.

If this option is not working for you, we think this is an issue specific to your website. Therefore, we would like to get access to the WordPress admin of your website. This will allow us to look at your specific setup and help us find a solution.

For increased security, we advise you to create a new admin user for us. Please also include a link to your admin login page, for example: http://www.example.com/wp-admin/

Please let us know if you’ve anymore questions.

Thanks and regards,
Suwash

I did find this…but does this actually work??
https://kb.yoast.com/kb/enable-disable-metabox-insights/?wpkb-rated=1
Is there a way to “clean” previous posts if this does indeed work?
How do I get rid of the viewable area in the media for instance?

… I don’t want “prominent words” enabled in my Yoast.
How do I turn it off?
It is messing with everything from:
Showing up in the media library. Showing up in areas where categories would be listed (see video 2 below). Being available as archive pages…list goes on.

I thought I would add my experience in here too since I am having similar issues with Yoast SEO conflicting with The Grid.

I had Yoast support look into this and here is what they said:

We reviewed your WordPress setup and noticed you’re using The Grid plugin which conflicts with the prominent words functionality of Yoast SEO Premium. As you probably know, our plugin calculates the prominent words (words or word combinations that appear most often in your text) for every post and page. Yoast SEO Premium uses prominent words to find posts that use the same words and offer you internal linking suggestions. Please, refer to this post for more information: https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-4-0/

Prominent words in our plugin are created as private taxonomies. That means that other plugins or themes should not access them or display them. However, The Grid plugin does display them in every attachment details page and other areas of the backend of your website (see attached screenshot) which causes performance issues. If you temporarily deactivate The Grid plugin, the problem uploading images should be fixed.

Can you offer any resolution?

Thanks!
