I went through your ‘howto’ and have tried it in a new grid of linked pages only as well as a grid with mixed posts and pages. When you select a page to view it shows in a post page format. Is there a way to view a post as a post and a page in a page without sidebars. I don’t understand why, when linking to an existing page, it is shoving it into a post format. Is this tied into my other issue with the breadcrumbs?

We could not view the given url. It just redirect us to your homepage. I have also looked in your pages and it seems that Preview is not a page.
A post is a post and you can view it as a post using the Global Content Layout settings in the Theme Options. A page on the other hand will display a page using the assigned page template for that page. A page will not be displayed as a post or having a post format. Would you mind providing us a little clarifications or screenshots maybe?

Preview in the url is a pathway to view the site without being logged in. If you go to https://staging.sowinteraction.com/preview/ then you should be able to navigage the site without the need to add that to the url - your are inside the wall and you can navigate anywhere. It is a little like your key passcode.
There are two grids on the home page. The top one is blog articles except for one imagethat links to a ‘page’ and not a post. The bottom grid links to all ‘pages’ and no posts but if you click on any of the page links from either grid it takes me to the page in a post format with a sidebar instead of the page view that is available.
Can you take another look? As I said I do have another question which may be related: the breadcrumb keeps taking a path through blog posts even though they are all pages.

I checked and it seems to work fine on my end. When I clicked on the pages it is showing as full width layout and when I clicked on the posts it shows the post format with right sidebar.
Can you please provide more details and screenshots on what you mean by this.
When you select a page to view it shows in a post page format.
