The Grid custom skins disappeared. Can't create new skins

Hi there,

I’m using The Grid to display blog posts thumbnails. I am using a custom skin created by me. I needed to change something on this skin and when trying to do so via the Skin Builder it says I have no skins. This is weird because I have created multiple custom skins.

I then tried to edit the grid that is using that missing skin and under the tab “Skins” I was able to see the missing skin. I tried to edit it through there, I am redirected to the skin editor and all looks good except the “Save” button doesn’t work.

So, summing up:

1. Skins disappeared on The Grid backend although the grids on the website are still using these skins
2. I can only access custom skins by editing the Grid that uses the skin and editing it from there (by clicking the wrench on the thumbnail)
3. Can’t save changes on the skin editor and can’t download/export skins as these buttons don’t work
4. Can’t create new skins

One last note, I can click the button to create a new skin but when on the skin editor screen I can’t add any elements to the skin as nothing shows up, just an empty list.

Can you help me out, please?

Thanks for writing to us.

There might be a few different reasons for this issue, I would suggest you troubleshoot with a few of the common issues before we investigate the settings.

1. Testing for Plugin Conflict
2. Child Theme Issue
3. CSS/JS Customization
4. Disabling Cache
5. Version compatibility

If none of these work for you, I would suggest you to copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site. And give us access as you did for your live site.

Thank you for your reply.

I should have mentioned that all troubleshooting suggestions were performed prior to writing to your support team.

I deactivated all plugins, removed custom functions.php and style.css files, deactivated child-theme, disabled cache and everything is up to date.

The issue still persists. I can’t create new skin nor edit existing ones which do not even show up as an option to edit in the Skin Editor menu,

Also, the credentials I provided and its website are of a staging environment so feel free to step in and check the issue for yourself.

One thing I noticed while on the Skin Builder menu was an error on the chrome console related to the load-scripts.php file:

Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi Andre,

It seems you are using the older version of The Grid plugin i.e 2.6.56, whereas the latest version which we support i.e 2.7.7. I would suggest you check our version compatibility page for the supported version and update it.

If that does not helps, please delete the plugin and re-install it once again from X > Validation.
