The Events Calendar Shortcode Issue

Hello! I am having an issue with The Events Calendar shortcodes displaying correctly within Themeco. I’ve tested their shortcode on a regular WordPress page and it works perfectly. I also tried to use widgets within the Themeco cornerstonepages setup and it still did not work.

So there is not another plugin that’s causing a compatibility issue. It’s the Themeco theme that seems to be the issue.

Here are the list of shortcodes - https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/embedding-calendar-views-with-the-tribe_events-shortcode/.

I’ve attached a screenshot of what happens when the website tries to load the shortcode view(s). It shows black.

I’ll send additional details and login info in a secure note.

Hi @thatcreativeguy,

Thanks for reaching out.
The Tribe Event is a 3rd Party plugin and we are not much aware of that. Unfortunately, we never tested the plugin with our theme yet, and also have not received any compatibility issues with it till now. Still, I would suggest you troubleshoot the following common issue to help to recognize the reason.

  1. Theme Related Issue
  2. Plugin Conflict
  3. Theme Update related issue
  4. Child Theme Related issue
  5. CSS/JS Customization
  6. Disabling Cache
  7. Disabling CDN

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
I would also request you activate any of the default themes like TwentyTwenty and check if the issue still persists or not, if the issue exists, please inform the plugin author of this. If not, please provide login credentials for your site to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

NOTE: This is a 3rd Party shortcode issue, and we don’t have any control over the code. Still, we are curious to know if the issue only persists with our theme.

Thanks

Hey,
I already tried this in another them and it worked fine. Also, I provided the WordPress login info in a secure note, in the previous post.

Hi @thatcreativeguy,

I have checked and found that the CSS file for the Tribe Event is not loading and that is why the SVG icons are showing in that way. As I have told you before that it is a 3rd Party plugin and we don’t have control over the code, you need to ask the Plugin Author on this. And before informing the Author, I would also request you update the Pro and check if that resolves your issue. If not, please let us know the feedback from them and copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

Thanks
