The Events Calendar plugin conflict

I am having a conflict that I can not seem to get resolved. After setting up my calendar it will not show up on the appropriate page (test.ebcflint.com/events) This is the link it should be showing up on, and instead it shows up as a garbled mess at the bottom. I have tried uninstalling all plugins but it does not help. I have tried using a different theme, and that does work. So it sounds like a conflict with X Theme. Please let me know how to fix this!

Hi there @joshcr11,

Thanks for writing in!

In your wp-admin navigate to your events page and edit it, on the right hand side under “templates” select any of the blank templates and update your page.

The output will then work correctly.

Thanks!

I could not get that to work. I don’t currently have an “Events” page created. So I created one and it gave me an error. (The Page “Events” uses the “/events” slug: the Events Calendar plugin will show its calendar in place of the page. Edit the Page slug or edit Events settings.) I still edited as you stated above, but had zero effect on the page. What next boss??

Hi There,

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? Please provide following information:

Set it as Secure Note

  • Link to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password
  • FTP credentials

All the best!

Yes I will…thanks for the help.

Hi there,

Thank you for providing the login information. I changed the default slug of the events from the settings and added the events page. Now it is working and does not throw that error.

Then I used a shortcode to show the list. You can use whatever shortcode on the page to show the event listing or calendar.

Thank you.

I have tried the exact same fix, but there is only one problem with it. When you click on an individual link it takes you to that links specific page…example (www.test.ebcflint.com/event/celebrate-recovery/)
When you click on the breadcrumb (All Events) to take you back to all the events it then takes you to the broken page…ugh…example (www.test.ebcflint.com/eventss/). I am unsure of what is causing the conflict. There must be a fix for it. Let me know what you come up with! Thanks for all the hard work, you guys are epic!

Hi there,

Please check now

Your events should use its own template instead of page templates. It’s under its display settings.

Thanks!

I would like to say I tried that, but apparently I didn’t! You guys are amazing! Thanks!
