The definition for this element could not be located

Good morning,

We have migrated from localhost to web hosting like many other times. At first everything worked but now cornerstone has stopped working.

We have deactivated all the plugins, deactivated the child theme since we have several customizations and templates created, but we still cannot modify anything.

Hi @gnomatech,

Thanks for reaching out.
It is not very clear which element is not working, I would suggest you check it from Cornerstone > Settings > Permissions > Elements whether the specific element is enabled or not. If not, please enable it and click on the UPDATE button to save the changes.
If that is already enabled, I would suggest you please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password
– Specific page and specific element that is not working.

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Hello @gnomatech,

I tried to access your site dashboard but the given login details are not working on my end. Please recheck and send us again.

Thanks

Sorry this is it!

Hi @gnomatech,

Unfortunately, your website shows an Error establishing a connection to the database error. I would suggest you check and let us know once it is accessible for further investigation.

Thanks

It loads perfectly for us!

Hello @gnomatech,

We now use the WordPress Rest API for saving and it looks like your web host does not support it. You need to ask your hosting provider to allow the Rest API endpoint URL it seems that ModSecurity is enabled.

Hope it helps
Thanks

From the hosting they answer me this:

We inform you that mod_security is not blocking the request. To test, we have disabled mod_security and we see that it still happens.

We have checked the server, but we do not see any blockage.

Hello @gnomatech,

I was not able to access your site dashboard due to the two-factor authentication security code. I would suggest you please ask your hosting provider to whitelist these Rest API URLs given on the above posts secure note and recheck them.

Thanks

disabled!!

Hey @gnomatech,

I checked your homepage and it seems you have resolved the issue already. When you see something like that, it could only mean that you are trying to edit a classic element or any of the deprecated elements. Simply go to Cornerstone > Settings > Permissions > Elements and make sure to enable “All Classic Elements” and the deprecated elements.

Best Regards.
