Termplates bring all colours and overwrite existing

I know there was something similar flagged around Design Cloud templates, but I’ve just download a page template from a site, uploaded it to another and (even though I haven’t implemented it anywhere) all the colours have changed matching the other site.
Any way that, if a template has colours, it brings them in AFTER the existing colours so doesn’t update the base ones?

Hello @RubberDuckers,

Thanks for writing in! When you save a block or a page as template, all of the settings from margins, padding, borders including the colors will be saved into the template. Once you imported or loaded the template into you new page, it will load exactly the same template styling including the colors too. The colors will not affect other pages or site colors. If you are experiencing this issue, you may be using an older version (7.1.2 or below) . Can you please confirm that you have updated to the latest versions?
Our latest versions are:

  • X theme 7.2.3
  • Cornerstone 4.2.3
  • WordPress Core 5.3.2

The latest release contains fixes for the mentioned issue so be sure to check out the changelog (https://theme.co/docs/changelog/cornerstone-4).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the response @ruenel!

Definitely on all the latest versions of everything.

I thought it was something that had been addressed. The templated worked perfectly on copying over, it was only the primary colour on site 1 (where the template came from) was red, and that overwrote the primary colour on site 2 which was green. I changed it back in the colour management and it went back to how it should be, which was an easy fix.

But just thought I’d flag it as I thought it was something that shouldn’t happen!

Thanks

You are most welcome @RubberDuckers!
