Templates not being imported or exported correctly

Hi guys,

I’ve been facing a very weird issue right after the first pro 2.1 updates. i can create and download a template without issues but when i try to import one, it says the file is not correctly formatted: https://www.useloom.com/share/ab58a12f4e63444a8714e8492d5dd6d8

i’ll give you access to both the sites and the templates (which i have erased so you can upload them again) so you can check it out on your end.

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in!

The given credentials on working in site 1. It does not allow us to log in to your site 2. Please double check it.

I have tested your site 1 by importing another template. I have successfully uploaded a content template.

To avoid getting such errors, please make sure that you haven’t inserted any invalid html or broken codes in the template so that it will not give you an invalid template format when you download it.

I have downloaded a template in your site 1 and re uploaded it. There seems no issues in the site 1 template manager. Does the issue only occurs in site 2? Please update us the access for the site 2 so that we can investigate.

Thanks you.

Hi there, please take a look at both sites now, i changed the password to the one provided above.

and yes, it only happens on the other site, which is weird. i gave you 2 sites exactly for that purpose, so you can see how 2 sites on the same server, with all of them on the same version could have different issues. it’s something i discovered by mistake and thought was an isolated case, but thanks to a post on facebook i discovered it wasn’t unfortunately

Hi @elpanda13

I’ve checked the second website and I managed to export a template from one of the pages, then import it again as in this video shared in the Secure Note.

The template imported successfully and it’s working fine on the test page I created, the link is also shared in the Secure Note.

Could you please let me know if I’m missing something? perhaps it’s limited to a specific page only?

Thanks.

I tried it with a header, And feankly I’ve only had issues with header and footer templates.

Try the “test” header in both pages and try then importing them in the other site (the one exported from site 1 in site 2 and viceversa), you’ll see that one works and one doesn’t (as shown on my video above).

That test site doesn’t have 1 single custom code or anything and the only thing that could be creating an issue that I can think of is the image (logo) which is imported with the header.

Hi @elpanda13

I’ve tried to export a header from Site 2, then import it on Site 1 and I got this message in the browser console:

"Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons."

This error is a WordPress related issue and there are different ways to sort it out discussed in this article, please give it a try:

Thanks.
