Hi everybody,
I’m a bit 'confused about X theme, pre-installed themes, demos and stack and especially what contains the template starter pack reachable from the template editor.
Here’s what I want to do:
I have a homepage divided into sections. I would like to load in one of the sections a layout already made and then modify it and adapt it to the look&feel. Let’s say, for example, a background with two cards each made by an icon, text and a call to action button centered.
(I saw doing this operation in a tutorial of a few years ago).
I tried to upload the starter pack from the template manager but I get the error "Sorry! Your file is not properly formatted "
After some researches I have proceeded to correct the wp-config.php and php.ini files to allocate more memory without success in uploading the starter pack.
I also contacted the host to request the PHP update (v5.3.29) - not yet done.
At this point I have a doubt. What does the starter pack template contain?
Because from the Stack menu (X theme) I have access to Integrity, Renew, Icon and Ethos.
While in the Page (WP editor) I can choose between the templates (Standard template, Blank - Container | leader, footer, etc.)
I have already uploaded the stater pack and that’s why I’ve received an error?
In this case, to upload parts of a web page that interest me, do I have to load a Demo and then save its parts as templates and reload them in a chosen stack (for example, Integrity)?
If so, how can I upload the demo integrity 3 (for example)? I can not find the demos anywhere.
Sorry for the verbosity, but I struggle to understand since I’m not a native English speaker.
thank you
Isacco
