Targeting Active Link in Navigation

Hi,

I am trying to change the :active designation of my font color in my navigation bar. I have the hover set up in CSS, but cannot seem to get the selector paths correct. I tried just replacing :hover with :active and that did not work. I set up a custom CSS selector for that particular menu item (which I recently discovered when trying to find a solution here), but neither of those seem to work. See the screenshots for the code I’m using. I have a feeling that I just am not getting the :active stuck into the right place.
