Tag setting not saving when creating a preset for headlines and other presets

I have encountered a bug or at least an unexpected behavior I wanted to make you all aware of. Maybe something can be done about this in the short term (I hope)…

I am building a site I plan to hand off to a client this week. That client is then going to build out a number of pages on their own. I have configured a bunch of presets and layout templates - and awesome and very powerful idea in Pro… I love this! But… there seem to be some issues:

When saving a preset for a headline element, you can choose font, color, size, and all the other options you might want to have available in a preset. But what won’t save is found under “Base Font Size & Tag” - the size does save but the tag definition does not.

So now I have headlines all over the site that are the right size visually but not the correct tag. This has SEO implications that are potentially negative. Can you please have a look and see why it might be that only some configurations are being saved in a preset and others are omitted?

I have also run across this when saving presets for buttons. Specifically when the graphic is set to “on” and an icon has been chosen. When applying that preset to another button elsewhere on the site, the icon defaults to the pointer (not the icon I saved when creating the preset). Again, this represents the same general problem: that not all element options and configurations are being saved in the custom preset. The resulting experience is that after applying the preset, one must then go and check that all the options are correct. This is not ideal for passing the site off to a client who does not have experience in managing all these options. They likely won’t even know what many of them are.

While this does get you 90% down the road for elements you want to reuse around the site, shouldn’t it be 100%? I mean, I can’t know what else the preset is missing when I save it… I just happened to notice these two in particular.

Please advise. Thank you in advance.

Hello @simeoned,

Thanks for asking.

It seems that you are not selecting Replace Content option. Please select replace content and settings you have saved in Preset will override the element default settings. Here’s a screencast that you can take a look.

Thanks.

Ah… ok, that makes sense. I just would not have thought of h1 vs. h2 as content. It makes perfect sense for the graphic section in the button though.

Thanks!

You are most welcome.
