Question:
I wanted to try the feature TOC, but it’s not clear to me how to redirect the links on the top to a specific part of the text (meaning clicking in the links in the TOC it goes straight to that specific chapter on the same page)

In the settings, It asks me for a page number instead. Does It mean that it only works to separate content in different pages?

I’m confused. Is there any document with an explanation on how this works, or a video I can refer to? I don’t want to add yet another plugin when I should have the function integrated on the X Theme.

Hey There,

TOC only works with paginating pages and posts using the <!--nextpage--> tag. What happens when you use this tag on your pages or posts in WordPress is that WordPress will break your post out into multiple pages, and for each successive page, it will append a higher number to the page or post URL. Hope that helps!

Thanks, so if I want a normal TOC within the page, i have to either use the anchor tag or an external plugin, correct?

Hi Clelia,

There is an existing shortcode that is supported. You just need to use it inside wordpress editor and NOT inside Cornertone/Content editor. Please check this thread for detailed guide. No need for an extra plugin.
