Hi,
I installed and added the Superfly plugin (bundled with X) to my page, but it messed up my page. I can’t fix it now. I removed my existing primary menu (Demo: Main Menu of X) from Superfly’s dashboard where I added it earlier, deactivated the plugin, but nothing works. Please take a look at my page and advise if possible. Check the Secure Note for the url of my page. Thanks
Hi Arif,
Thanks for reaching out.
I have checked the given URL and didn’t find the issue you have described here. It seems that the Superfly Menu plugin is still deactivated and that is why the issue does not exist anymore. I would suggest you activate the plugin once again and provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further.
If that is not possible, please copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot by activating the plugin without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:
– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password
To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.
Thanks
Hi tristup ,
Yes, I had deactivated Superfly, hoping that would solve the problem. But it didn’t. The problem is still there - at least I can see it, I don’t know why you can’t. I am using the “Lawyer” template of X. Please take a look at the top menu of my home page. The top menu should look like the top menu of the said “Lawyer” template - horizontal and clinging to the top of the page horizontally. But after adding this primary menu of X to Superfly in its own dashboard (under “Source…Superfly Menus:”), suddenly this menu became - vertical and left aligned - which was not intended and not supposed to happen because I configured Superfly as a Skewed style Sidebar only without wanting to affect the existing top menu. But here, I can’t see superfly sidebar . The 3 line menu (I don’t know what it’s called) is probably there at the very top of the vertically aligned old menu as 3 lines but the Sidebar doesn’t appear. But most importantly, it destroyed my existing menu and turned it into an ugly disfigured menu vertically hanging from the top edge of the page. It remains so even after removing the primary menu from superfly and/or deactivating Superfly. Can you not see this vertically hanging top menu on my live site homepage?
Secondly, I already have a staging site (a subdomain) and I had tried Superfly there before trying it in the live one. It worked fine there without disturbing the top menu at all. I went back to it after you asked about it above and it was still good. The Superfly sidebar was working, the pre-existing top-menu was horizontally fine and unaffected.
Then i noticed there is a pending “X” theme update. So I updated X. Then I went to the homepage of the staging site… and wow - I found that the pre-existing horizontal top menu here too has turned into a somewhat left-aligned vertically hanging ugly top-menu just like the live site!!! But in this case, Superfly’s sidebar is still there and visible - unlike in the live site where it’s not visible.
So, it looks like it is the latest “X” update which is causing these problems!!
Please check the URLs of both the live and staging sites given in the secure note. You can compare the menus of both sites. Superfly is now activated in both places. If you still think you need the login credentials to examine it further, I will provide it in my next post.
Thanks.
Hi Arif,
Same as my colleague, I can’t also see the issues on your live website, this could be a cache issue on your end. Just a heads up, after doing any updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.
Hope that helps and let us know how it goes.
