Superfly menu main links

I have Superfly installed on a client site and it has worked for close to a couple years…until now. The main parent links are not active. They show the link they are setup with, but they go no where. Please address this asap as we have left the superfly menu activated even though the main links are not working, so you all can troubleshoot. Please help.

What we have done to troubleshoot:

  1. Remove all custom css and clear cache and test.
  2. Deactivate all plugins except Cornerstone which is active as part of Pro. We also left Superfly active of course.
  3. Made sure Pro and all supporting plugins are updated.

Hi @kstidham,

It will be very difficult to recognize the issue without investigating through the admin dashboard. I would request you please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

If you didn’t find the secure note option in your current post, please add the details in your previous comment in the same thread.

Thanks

I will follow up with the requested info.

Hi @kstidham,

Regretfully, the Superfly Menu does not allow to open the link that set in the parent menus. As, it always accept the tap on mobile devices to interact with it.

Thanks for understanding.

I have multiple installations of your theme and the superfly on the internet and your reply is not true. If the parent links do not work on Superfly…please explain the example site linked below. Every parent link works just fine. You all have to stop saying “whatever” to get past the issue at hand and start helping your customers before we all move one. I just replaced Bluehost, who like themeco. became too BIG for their britches and provides bad service and support. Do I need to do the same with Themeco?

Please just figure this out and stop passing the Buck. You have no idea how much time your bad support and denials cost the very people who buy your product. If I were to believe you, I would have uninstalled Superfly and replaced it with an alternative. This takes time and would not have been necessary. If you bundle bad plugins with your theme, it is on you to help them work for the client.

Thank you.

Hello @kstidham,

The correct way of having a link that goes nowhere is to set the “href” to # only. Do not add anything like http://# because it will result to an issue to some browsers.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ruenel, are you reading my message? Your replies are not even related to the issue and I have a client with a website menu that does not allow their users to access content. I have numerous Superfly installs. Some have active parent links and some do not. Regardless the menu should react to whatever way we have configured it to react.

  1. The site in question is - https://www.folsomchamber.com. The parent menu items are linked to a page but do not ever go into an active state.

  2. The other example site I sent for https://www.hillcrestkc.org. The parent menu items are linked to a page and when hovered over and clicked, they do go to the page intended.

Why is the same menu plugin working on one site and not on another?

This is a simple issue, please, if you do not understand send it along to someone who does.

Started using a new theme yesterday Ruenel and this is why. I should not have to ask a question for an entire week just to get an answer or a solution to an issue this simple. This should have been resolved within minutes of you reading it the first time. We are experiencing the same thing with bluehost.com and I believe it is a language barrier. Please help or pass this along.

Hello @kstidham,

I was referring to your own href values. I saw a few menu items that use http://# instead of just #. Those links will usually go to an error 404 page.

Meanwhile, your parent menu item or active parent links that go nowhere is because of your Superfly menu settings. In the Menu Panel > General > Submenus Interface, you may have selected “Click”.

And lastly, in Advanced Tab, you have enabled the “Ignore Parent Links” option which is why even if your parent link is supposed to go to the About page, it does not do anything except opening the submenu.

Hope this helps.
