Referencing this Status Report from Feb 28, 2023: https://theme.co/blog/status-report-february-28-2023, can you please elaborate on what specifically will happen to older sites in the wild that use classic elements?
Respectfully, those of us who have been using the platform for long enough to have to worry about this should be rewarded for that loyalty, not left in the dark wondering how expensive this is about to be. So…
I need a direct, definitive, authoritative answer on this central question:
Will sites that use classic elements break in any way when this support officially ends?
Here’s the thing, tt is pretty universally agreed that communication from Themco has been very poor historically. This is the latest example of the kind of ambiguity that erodes confidence. If I wrote that update, I’d make the point very clear concerning the future of those sites which were built years ago using classic elements, are still live, and for which there is likely zero budget to update to newer methods in the builder. IMO you guys need serious help in the marketing and communications department. Love the tools, but this is a serious deficiency and should not be left unaddressed.
Please let me know the answer to this fundamentally important question so I can sleep knowing my clients are not going to show up at my office with pitchforks.
