Hi there - Our developer manages updates to plugins and themes. The developer monitors closely for plugin updates and keeps them updated. We have a staging site on which they can install updates for testing. Once they update the staging site they test the site, then we test the site ourselves.
But for Theme X, they tend to wait longer before updating. Recently they updated Theme x from 6.5.5 to 7.1.2 on the staging site. We have been testing the staging site and have found just a few minor issues.
Here is my question, what is the testing protocol you would recommend when the Theme under goes such as large change? In our case its going from 6.5.5 to 7.1.2.
We have the staging site on which to test. We have a testing protocol which tests all the main functions of our site such as shopping, checking out, sending emails, etc… I know we can read the change log here, https://theme.co/changelog/#theme-pro-3-1-0-theme-x-7-1-0-cornerstone-4-1-0 But in this case, there are quite a few changes to consider.
Our site uses Woo, and has a custom child theme.
I searched the forum and Youtube channel but didn’t see anything.
Thanks
Tim
