Suggestion for Page Based Slider

I have styled a page in X Pro to use as a template for a recurring event. I understand a post would be better but applying the page design to a post is not nearly as easy I believe. So as I am adding events on pages, I am looking for a horizontal slider that will pull specified pages into the slides. All the sliders I have found pull posts.

Question #1: Is there any easy way to create a posts template based on a page designed in Pro without having to custom code a posts template for the child theme?

Question #2: Do you know of a way to add a slider based on specified pages?
