Stripe Connection Timeout

The Stripe Woo integration keeps timing out when people try to pay on the checkout page. The integration was working yesterday 7/30 and now today it’s not. No settings or updates were made between yesterday and today.

In an attempt to fix, I’ve updated X theme, all plugins, and the API version within the stripe dashboard. Nothing has fixed the problem.

I chatted w Stripe and they said “It looks like a source was successfully created today, we just weren’t told what to do with this…other than that we haven’t received any kind of information from your website.”

I chatted w the folks over at Woo and they said they thought it was either a) a server side issue (firewall or similar) or an issue with the theme or plugin. But they did say usually a communication error is on the host side.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for writing in!

To narrow down what is causing the issue. Please create a staging site using this third party plugin.

This will allow you to debug/test without interrupting your live site.

In your staging site, activate wordpress default twenty seventeen theme and test STRIPE.

If the issue persist, you could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins in staging, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes!

I pay for a staging site through GoDaddy’s ManagedWP and I was getting a 500 error when trying to access it. I chatted with GoDaddy and they enabled the debug for the staging site and said the reason why staging isn’t working is “Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Cornerstone_Shortcode_Generator in /home/content/a2pnexwpnas04_data01/97/3475997/html/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/classes/classic/builder/class-shortcode-generator.php on line 0”

Also, update to the issue - When I click “Place Order” I’m now getting a different message "“Sorry, your session has expired. Return to shop.” I’m getting the same message when logged in and logged out. HOWEVER, orders are now going through. I’ve confirmed in the backend and in my stripe account. However, customers aren’t aware that their order went through so I’m getting calls from customers confused. Any ideas?

Hi @BPlug

Could you please provide us with WordPress Dashboard and FTP login details for that stagging server in a “Secure Note” so we can investigate this issue?

Thanks.

Alright, well one issue is resolved. Turns out the Stripe timeout issue was being caused by a premium plugin that I paid $39 for called WooCommerce Checkout Field Editor Pro by ThemeHiGH.

Still wondering about the issue with GoDaddy staging. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello There,

I was able to logged in to your staging site. I found out that you have two copies of Cornerstone in the Plugins section. I deleted both of the plugin and then went back to X > Validation so that Cornerstone will be installed automatically again.

The issue should now be resolved. Please check your site.
