Stop self hosted video by closing V2 Modal Content Element

Hi there, I’m having an issue where my video keeps playing after I close the modal box. It was embedded via Vimeo but I read about API issues and the solutions seemed beyond my expertise. I have since switched to a self hosted video but can’t find a solution. Is this something you can help with? Many thanks in advance.
