hi there,
i would like to have a stickbutton like on the www.bmw.de page (scroll down a little). the 4 square blue buttons on the right hand side of the window.
i would like to have the functionality when clicking on one. then a small content window opens.
does one of the bundled plugins offer this? or any other 3rd party plugin?
the bmw page seems not to allow a service like “what plugins uses this page” or “what cms” for that matter
thanks a lot for your replies! kai
Hey!
You could use Superfly (theme x extension plugin) and change the button icon to whatever you want,
and the button is sticky.
also u could use “mystickymenu” or “stickyanything” 3rd plugins to sticky it with #id or .class
you can get the id or class when you inspect the browser (right click mouse then click inspect on the element)
but i think that just superfly will do the job.

good luck!
hey,
thanks a lot for your suggestion!
i tried it out and found after quite a while of testing that it does not offer the look as it is on bmw.de.
it is always a full sidebar like design or the hamburger icon.
i need only 3 or 4 icons sticking to the side of the window.
otherwise it looks good and can work with shortcodes.
but the look is not achievable i think.
thanks again! kai
could you specify please what exacly you want to have?
i would like to have a stickybutton or sticky nav like on the www.bmw.de page (scroll down a little). i refer to the 4 square blue buttons on the right hand side of the window.
i would like to have the functionality when clicking on one: a small content window opens. i imagine being able to put a contact form shortcode in it or similar.
do you know what i mean? thanks a lot! kai
yes i see, i suggest you to look for this functionality in youtube for some plugin that does that.
and you could contact that website and ask them how they did that, i am sure they will respond quickly
hi angleofgod,
how could i find information like this on youtube? i am slightly confused
i am sure bmw did their own custom thing there. even the cms ist not detectable.
thanks again! kai
try to youtube “WORDPRESS EXPANDING SIDE MENU” or stuff like that
i am sorry but this does not help at all. how can i find in this mess of videos what i am looking for? there is no way this will work. unless i have weeks on hand to search watch videos and commercials…
Check out https://wordpress.org/plugins/mystickymenu/.
Unfortunately it wont give you the expanding functionality like you are asking for but some items are just not available yet in wordpress. Something like the BMW website has requires being custom coded for it’s specific task and functionality so it’s hard to make a generic solution.
Have you tried just looking for “off canvas menu” or something. CodeCanyon has a ton of plugins. Like maybe this one http://preview.codecanyon.net/item/flyouts-off-canvas-custom-content-for-wordpress/full_screen_preview/7837448?_ga=2.224657817.2067094967.1526417074-1385766805.1526417074
You’ll just have to do your research on it.
hey thanks a lot guys! i appreciate your suggestions and help!
there are many sticke or off canvas solutions out there. up to now none of them can do what the bmw thingy does.
next i will try the allmighty ubermenu. it can hold shortcuts and expand. but i am not sure if it can be reduced to icon buttons… so you know by any chance?
if this will not work i will just do simple menu buttons like most solutions and forget about the expanding content part…
thanks again! kai
