Start audio or video only automatically when they become visible

Hi, (how) is it possible to start an audio or video automatically as soon as it becomes visible on the screen?

I would like to create a onepager post where the user can scroll fullscreen sections to the top. As soon as a section comes into view, an audio file should start that acoustically illustrates this scene. The same should also work for a background video.

So I need a kind of trigger command that starts the files (as loop) as soon as they become visible.

Hello Daryl,

Thanks for writing in! Regretfully what you have in mind is not possible with the current Video and Audio elements in the builder. It may be possible with custom JS coding triggering the video or audio present on the page. Be advised that custom coding is beyond the scope of our support under our Support Policy. If you are unfamiliar with code and resolving potential conflicts, you may select our One service for further assistance.

Best Regards.

OK thanks.

Then I would like to formulate that as a feature request: an option to affect elements as soon as they enter or leave the viewport (which is already the case with animations - e.g. for diagrams).
Play / pause / stop for media files (incl. soft fade-in / -out for audio) would be useful as options. In times of “scrollytelling” that would be a top feature for Pro / Cornerstone, which would probably be relatively easy to implement and I can’t find it anywhere else.

Hi Daryl,

I will surely check with the possibilities and will add that as feature request, so it can be considered in the future.

Thanks
