SSL plugin worked in X until the latest upgrade

I’ve upgraded to the latest version of X, Cornerstone and Wordpress. I was using really simple ssl which worked well, but after the upgrades many images don’t load. I’ve searched the forums and tried based on the advice here https redirection and that also failed. I did change to https in the wordpress settings and I tried find and replace to re-set http to https but I wasn’t having success. Can you help me get my site back to an ssl connection?

Thanks,

Hi Felice,

You will have to make sure you have updated all your site internal links from the http domain to https.

This should safely be done using the Better Search and Replace plugin where you will have to search for http://example.com to https://example.com but you have to make sure to search all of the tables so that all the links will be updated.

Also, before doing the search and replace, make sure to backup your database.

I tried your suggestion and using Better Search and Replace didn’t change all of the internal links. I also tried another plug-in but it too didn’t find all the internal links. So I bit the bullet and re-loaded all the images that needed updated links and now my site has a secure connection on all pages. It’s inconvenient that X doesn’t work w/plug-ins that fix/re-direct to https, this was a lot of work.

Hi There,

On your Homepage, please try re-attaching the following images on the secure note below, so that it will pickup with HTTPS:// links.

Thanks!

Thanks but I already did try re-attaching these. When I re-loaded the favicon.ico to https:// it didn’t show up on my web page. So, I left it at http:// and it shows up and I get a green padlock, so I assume the connection is secure.

Felice

Hi Felice,

That is because your Favicon is on another domain and also it’s SSL certificate is expired.

Upload your Favicon to the same domain that you’re testing and use it’s URL to set the image path. I will add a secure note with detailed information.

Hope that helps.
Thanks!
